Subject: Meeting Minutes 

The December 1998 meeting was held at the QTH of Dennis McAlpine, K2SX

The meeting opened at 8:57pm , Jeff Singer-K2KV presiding in the absence
of Frank-	
W2YK.
Attending : KS2G, N2GA, W2GGE, W2AX, K2KV, WM2V, N2UN, NA2M, K2LE, N2FF,
and K2SX.

The Minutes of the November 1998 meeting were read and accepted.

MATTERS DISCUSSED
Sweepstakes Competition: Frank-N2FF inquired about activity in the
Sweepstakes.  
Frank said he operated in SSB/CW; K2KV SSB; KS2G SSB; K2LE CW; and WM2V
SSB. 

Jeff-K2KV reported that he had mailed the letter to the CAC and other
clubs regarding.
club competition.
              

CQWW CW: Andy-K2LE was congratulated on the 15M+ points achieved in the 
contest. 

DXCC reports: Frank-N2FF said that the Current and Total countries
reported on the individual reports sent from the DX Desk at ARRL HQ.
Current means countries on the current list of active countries, and
Total refers to Current plus Deleted credits. 

Frank-N2FF reported about the sudden passing of Mary Lou Brown, NM7N,
ARRL Northwestern Division Director. She had just returned from the
Dxpedition at Lord Howe Island and died at the Los Angeles
Airport.Bill-NA2M reported that Bob Dow-WB2CJL,
had succumbed to a heart attack recently. Bob was co-editor of the VK2SG
RTTY Newsletter. 

Dayton Hamvention 1999: Dennis-K2SX announced he planned to attend. 

10-Meter Contest: Frank-N2FF reported that it is a club competition.
KS2G, N2GA, WM2V, N2UN, and NA2M plan to operate. It will be an OBO
submission. 

Election of Officers: Jeff-K2KV was elected president; KS2G,
vice-president, Andy-K2LE, treasurer; Bill-NA2M, secretary; and
Larry-W2AX. activities manager.

April Appeasement Dinner: Jeff-K2KV asked the members present to suggest
where we should have the dinner. It will be reported at the January
meeting. 

ARRL CW DX Contest - Feb. 1999: Larry-W2AX said he is looking for
operators. 

The next Owls meeting will be on January 4, 1999 at the QTH of K2LE. 

The meeting was adjourned at 9:49pm.
